Liang Village, an ancient village with a long history and profound cultural heritage, is known as "Pingyao 408 Village, one of the best Liang Villages". There are five castles and 65,438+032 traditional courtyards. Most of these courtyards are the former residences of wealthy businessmen in Qing Dynasty, such as Mao and Mao. They used to be the bank bosses with great influence in the history of Shanxi merchants Pingyao gang, and they were the leading figures in Pingyao banking. Mao's former residence, former residence, former residence, Ji's former residence, Deng Wangqing's former residence, Mao Hongxiang's former residence, Deng's former residence, Ji Dingxuan's former residence, Bai's former residence, Liang's former residence and Shi's former residence ... These houses recorded the history of Shanxi merchants and witnessed the prosperity of this area in the Qing Dynasty. No wonder there is a folk saying that "there is an active Chiliang village first, and then there is the ancient city of Pingyao". There are few historical records about Liangcun. However, from the folk proverb "Chiliang village comes first, then Pingyao ancient city" and the towering ancient tree in the village, it is not difficult to speculate that this is an ancient village with a long history. There is a five-story hexagonal ancient brick tower in the north of the village, named Yuan Gong Tower. According to the inscription of Jifu Temple in the village, this pagoda was built in the second year of Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1296).
Liangcun, with an area of 6.2 square kilometers, is an important part of Pingyao's tourism framework of "one city, one mountain, one water and one line". It is also an ancient village that has experienced vicissitudes and deeply branded the history and culture of the Chinese nation. In June 2006, Liangcun was named as "Famous Historical and Cultural Village in Shanxi Province" by Shanxi Provincial Government, and "Famous Historical and Cultural Village in China" by Ministry of Construction and National Cultural Heritage Administration in June 2007.
