Creative characteristics
Liang Hua Niu, known as "the only cow in Jiangnan", has a great influence. Liang's cow paintings are full of vitality and interest. He praised the simplicity and down-to-earth spirit of cattle. He learns from cows and draws them, which is connected with their hearts. The long scroll "Hundred Eight Cattle Map" shows cows, buffaloes, scalpers, yaks, cows and calves, and at the end, a group of cows are lying on the ground playing in the water. When gathering and dispersing, it presents the characteristics of a hundred cows and all kinds of cows, which constitutes a magnificent grand view of a hundred cows. The long scroll "Cattle Grazing Map" is taken from the classics of Zen masters, and the Zen realm is changed to ink painting. The images of cows and shepherds naturally extend. The people and scenery in the painting are full of humor and poetic meaning.
But friends who are familiar with Liang know that Liang is not only good at drawing cows, but also proficient in figures and landscapes. In order to reflect the urban landscape of Shanghai today, he has formed an indissoluble bond with urban painting. He has often set foot in this field and successfully created Shanghai Beach and Golden Light. Liang believes that the key to today's colorful Shanghai is to transform traditional painting language into modern painting language, break the logic of realistic painting, strengthen the visual impact of object expression, present a strong sense of modernity and create new painting languages and symbols. For example, there is a powerful brush stroke in Golden Light, in which six golden searchlights radiate in the night, breaking the rigidity of the building and enhancing the sense of form of the picture.
In order to broaden his horizons and gain more creative inspiration, Liang has visited Xinjiang three times and Taihang three times in recent years. Liang believes that a painter who reflects reality should know the basic requirements of most people in subject matter, so that they can accept and enlighten. Liang attaches great importance to artistic expression in different themes, different contents and different forms of creation. He believes that painting landscapes should study the philosophy of the ancients, but more attention should be paid to the real landscapes to find the most suitable expression method. His paintings should be "mountains first, then mountains, sublimated into things in his heart through ordinary natural things such as rocks and figures", and then his paintings are not old-fashioned and take on a new look. Through sketching, his works, such as Love in the Yellow River, Going Out to Huashan Mountain, Xiangnong Milk Tea and Feelings of the Old Cow, have been well received.
