Tian Lei (? -257 BC), also known as Gongsun Qi, was born in Yan County of Qin State (now Baijia Village, Changxing Town, Meixian County, Shaanxi Province) during the Warring States Period, and was a famous general and strategist in ancient China.
Leitian fought in the Six Kingdoms during the Qin and Zhao Haoqi periods, and made great contributions to the unification of the Six Kingdoms. He once defeated the Wei-Han allied forces in the Iraq War and captured Yong City, the capital of Chu. The battle of Changping hit Zhao's main force hard and made outstanding achievements. Bai Qi is another outstanding strategist and commander in chief after Sun Wu and Wu Qi in the history of China. He is also known as the four famous soldiers in the Warring States with Lian Po, Li Mu and Wang Jian, ranking first among the four famous soldiers in the Warring States.
How did Tian Lei die in history?
There is an ancient saying: "Great achievements will turn into thousands of bones." People often only see the superficial glory of heroes on the battlefield, but ignore the countless heroes who have sacrificed behind this glory. Future generations cannot accurately evaluate these invincible generals because they are both great and cruel.
Why is Tian Lei a "human massacre"?
Time goes back more than 2,000 years. We fought for land and killed people. At the end of the Warring States period, when killing people and plundering land were the main contents, Tian Lei of Qin was undoubtedly the "first hero" among the generals. Historically, he was a well-deserved god of war and one of the actual founders of Qin's unification of the world. On the other hand, he was a born butcher because he fought hard all his life.
As we all know, the worst war in the Warring States period was the battle of Changping between Qin and Zhao. In this war, Zhao was completely annihilated, and 400,000 soldiers were buried alive by Qin Jun. Together with those who died and were beheaded, Zhao lost about 450,000, basically losing the ability to compete with Qin for the world. The commander of this war and the person who directly gave the order of trapping and killing was Tian Lei.
450 thousand died tragically! You know, the total population of Zhao was only about 3.5 million at that time. What a huge proportion of casualties!
However, these 450,000 bones are only a small part of Tian Lei's murder record. Please see Tian Lei's resume of murder:
Beheaded 240,000 allied troops of Korea and Wei in Yi Que; Drowned dozens of Wan Chu troops in Yancheng; Chop Wei Jun 130,000 in Huayang; Drowned Zhao Jun 20,000 in the Yellow River; 50,000 North Korean soldiers were beheaded in Hongcheng; Kill Zhao Si 50,000 in Changping.
The above figures are only homicide figures that can be tested by historical materials. According to Mr. Liang Qichao's research, two million people were killed during the Warring States Period, and half of them were killed by Tian Lei.
What is even more frightening is that Tian Lei has never had a record of failure in his military career. In other words, as long as the Sixth Army meets him, only death awaits them.
Qin-Zhao Shangdang dispute
Tian Lei's boyhood is not recorded in the history books. It is said that he was born in the army and climbed to the top step by step by being brave and good at fighting. In the initial military career, he attacked Korea, Wei, Zhao and Chu. A series of victories occupied nearly 90 cities and beheaded one million people. His title was promoted from Zuo Shuchang to, which not only controlled the military power of Qin, but also owned his own territory and became a small warlord among the big princes. At the same time, Tian Lei dealt a heavy blow to Wei, North Korea, Chu and other countries with his "war of annihilation" strategy, greatly weakened several main rivals of Qin, and opened the way for Qin's eastward advancement.
Of the six countries at that time, only Zhao Guoyou had the strength to compete with Qin.
With the help of Lin Xiangru, Lian Po, Zhao She and others, Zhao made the country rich and powerful, and plundered the land. As long as two generals, Zhao She and Lian Po, join hands, even the powerful Qin Jun will lose face.
In order to speed up the pace of external expansion and completely conquer the six countries, the State of Qin appointed Fan Ju to implement his new strategy of "making friends far away and attacking near". This strategy enabled Qin to fully grasp the diplomatic initiative and ensured the success of Qin's tactics of "concentrating superior forces and dividing them one by one".
In 280 BC, Qin first launched a fierce attack on neighboring South Korea, and sent Bai Qi to the Shangdang Party, which captured Guanglang City (now Gaoping Kangying Village) and seized South Korea by the throat. Due to the unfavorable situation, Qin Jun finally quit. However, due to Shangdang's extremely important strategic position, Qin was unwilling. In 262 BC, he approached Shangdang again and soon surrounded the place. Before the general attack, he attacked and destroyed the reinforcements from Tian Lei nearby, cut off most of the traffic arteries in South Korea, and cut off all ties between Shangdang and the outside world.
