King Wu's First Discovery of Musical Poetry
In July 2008, donated by Tsinghua alumni, a batch of bamboo slips of the Warring States Period (referred to as "Tsinghua Bamboo Slips") were rescued from abroad and entered Tsinghua University. According to preliminary statistics, there are 2 100 pieces of "Tsinghua Bamboo Slips", accounting for a large proportion. Generally, there are characters on bamboo slips. "Tsinghua Bamboo Slips" have various shapes, the longest is 46 cm, and the shortest is 10 cm. The ink calligraphy characters on bamboo slips come from different calligraphers with different styles, and most of them are finished products. On several bamboo slips, there is also a red plaid word "Zhu". According to the measurement, the date of "Tsinghua Bamboo Slips" is about 305 30 BC, which is equivalent to the mid-Warring States period. After appraisal, 65,438+065,438+0 Li, Qiu Xigui and other authoritative experts believe that "these bamboo slips of the Warring States are very precious historical relics, involving the core content of China's traditional culture, and are unprecedented major discoveries, which will have a far-reaching impact on many disciplines such as history, archaeology and philology". After cleaning and browsing, 2388 bamboo slips in the Warring States period were initially confirmed to be books, mostly related to history, including Shangshu and Chronicle. Since March 2009, Tsinghua University began to make a preliminary interpretation of Bamboo Slips of Tsinghua, and made a series of important discoveries. This time, Zhou Wuwang's musical poem "Seeing the Light of Day Again" undoubtedly has great historical and academic value.

According to Professor Li Xueqin, director of Tsinghua University Unearthed Literature Research and Protection Center, there are 14 newly discovered bamboo slips of Zhou Wuwang-era music poems. It is recorded in the bamboo slips that he returned to Zhoudu after conquering Qi (Li) in the last eight years of Shang Dynasty (before conquering Shang Dynasty), and held a ceremony of "drinking to the end" at Wenwang Zongmiao-You, his brother Zhou Gong, his brother Bi, (peers, unknown identity) and Xin Jia. The authors of fu poetry are called King Wu and Duke Zhou. In Shang Dynasty, Qin was a small country not far from Shangdu Chao Ge. Before the Song Dynasty, people always thought it was time to cut hair. After the song dynasty, there was a debate on this issue, and there was a saying that the king of Wu cut hair. No one has obtained enough evidence for these two statements.

After reading a Zhou Wuwang's music poem in Tsinghua's bamboo slips, we found the evidence of "King Wu's theory of cutting coke". Bamboo slips recorded that he returned to Zhoudu after conquering the country for 8 years, and held a ceremony of "drinking to the end" in the ancestral temple, attended by Duke Zhou, Duke Zhou, Duke Xin Jia, Zuo and others. At the ceremony, he drank wine and wrote poems. Known authors are King Wu and Duke Zhou.

Li Xueqin said that these bamboo slips have both historical value and literary significance. Especially after the Qin Dynasty, all Yuefu poems have been lost, which is even more important.
