Lying like a dragon between heaven and earth. Whenever the first rays of Xia Guang glow, the mountain is golden, just like a dragon shining with golden light. So it's called Jinlong Mountain [2]

history

Longju Temple was built on the mountain, which was founded in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. It is said that Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, once climbed this mountain and offered sacrifices to bodhisattvas and made incense in the temple. After the temple was destroyed, the present temple is only in ruins. [2]

There is an ancient temple at the top of the mountain, named Jinlong Temple, commonly known as "Ancestral Temple", which is dedicated to the Buddha of Pirozena. There is a couplet on the gate of the temple: Jinlong Mountain is the ancestor and Buddhism is the only one.

Due to the war in the Southern Song Dynasty, the temple was once destroyed, and it was not rebuilt until the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1370). After restoration and expansion, this group of buildings has become more spectacular. The front hall is dedicated to the Four Heavenly Kings, Wei Tuo, Miqin Buddha and Eighteen Arhats. Sakyamuni, Amitabha Buddha (left), Pharmacist Buddha (right), Ye Jia, Ananda, Twenty-four Celestial Signs, Earth Treasure King, Guanyin and "Cizhou Purdue" are enshrined in the Mahayana Hall, and the ancient Buddha Pilu is also enshrined in the back hall. There are Buddhist temples, guest rooms, huts, bell and drum towers on both sides of the building complex, and there are mountain gates in front. On the lintels of the arch ears on both sides, the words "Panruo" and "Shi" are engraved, and there are forest of steles in the east and west corridors, engraved with Mo Bao, a calligrapher of past dynasties. There is a couplet on the gate, which is meaningful:

Since ancient times, he has won countless heroes.

How many lost idiots are awakened by the world, the morning bell and the evening drum.

It is said that Jaco, the earliest emperor of Cishan, built a palace on Jinlong Mountain, worshipped Taiwan and offered sacrifices to the Emperor of Heaven. Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin named him "Longshan Zen Forest". Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, commanded the Jiangnan War, went to Jinlong Mountain with his ministers, paid homage to the ancestral temple, and won the "signing". After Zhu Yuanzhang proclaimed himself Jinling, he twice sent an imperial envoy to Jinlong Mountain to worship his ancestors.
