A brief introduction to the life of Shen Rong, a seal engraver in the Republic of China
Shen Rong (1794- 1856), also known as Mei Jushi, was born in Diansheng and Yuanhe (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). Father Takemura is good at painting and easy to collect. Rong Youying's sketch techniques are different, including literati, women, figures, insects, butterflies and so on. Gaiqi (1774- 1829) and Liao successively joined forces with Wu, Xian and Jie to study each other, thus forming Liao Gong. Painting peony is very colorful, so it is called peony instead of Qiwei, and sometimes it has the purpose of sinking peony. Then it was changed to ink flowers and birds, with fine stones and dead branches, pure and carefree, competing with Yunyan, Tiepiao and Qin Feng one by one. Wen Peng and Dong Qichang, masters of landscape, also have verve. In the twenty-seventh year of Daoguang (1847), he painted "Green Flowers of Sepals on the Sea" and wrote the poem "Drinking Water and Reading Lent". Died at the age of 63.
