1, the first China general in Washington-Lei Guangyun (2006)

In the traceability hall in Seattle, Washington, USA, there is a famous Chinese-Mr. Lei Guangyun. He was recently awarded the honorary title of General Washington, which is the highest honor awarded by Washington State. The award was signed by Governor Koch, Lieutenant Governor Owen, Secretary of State Sam Reid and five-star general Hardway. Among many overseas Chinese leaders in Washington State, this is the first one to receive this honor. The news came that the vast number of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese leaders were happy for him and praised him for winning glory for overseas Chinese.

Mr. Lei Guangyun's ancestral home is Mount Tai. He immigrated from Hong Kong to Seattle, Washington, USA when 195 1 was just sixteen years old. He runs a restaurant and is the chairman of the Iowa Jockey Club. 1995 was appointed as Asia manager of Emerald Queen Entertainment Company. He actively participated in community work and served as the chairman and consultant of the Tracing Hall. When Traceability Hall was built, it not only took the lead in donating money, but also mobilized donations from family members, clans and society, so that Traceability Hall had its own club and became a famous club in Seattle.

The Washington General Association was founded in 1970, founded by John L.Cherberg, then the deputy governor of Iowa, and was awarded the rank of citizen general by the state government. Every year, the association elects one or two generals. This time, Mr. Lei Guangyun won this honor in recognition of his continuous support and care for the community and the local overseas Chinese community. Mr. Lei Guangyun, 7 1 year-old, is the first Chinese to win the highest honor award from the state government. The honorary title of General Washington is an official form of recognition. The certificate was signed by the governor, the deputy governor, the Secretary of State and the commander-in-chief of the Washington State Association, in recognition of citizens who helped Iowa become the best place to live, made contributions to the community, or made contributions to improving the tourism, education, culture and economy of Iowa, and made significant contributions to the community and the local overseas Chinese community. The Seattle Traceability Office and the US-China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association held a celebration for Mr. Lei Guangyun to win the title of "General Washington", which was attended by nearly 500 political, business and community people. Fang Fang, Chairman of the US-China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, delivered a speech to welcome everyone. Chuck Hardaway, the general of Washington State, and Owen, the deputy governor, delivered speeches successively, praising Lei Guangyun's contribution to the community in China, winning this honor, and awarded Lei Guangyun the certificate of "General of Washington State". Washington State General Hardaway wears the "Washington State General" badge for Lei Guangyun. Wang Xinping, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of China in San Francisco, brought congratulations from the Consulate General of China and Consul General of Peng Keyu. San Francisco Traceability Museum and Liang Chong Kung Fu Club presented gifts and congratulatory plaques to congratulate Mr. Lei Guangyun on winning the honor of "Washington State General".

2. Chinese Chen Shouren won the honor of "Huazhou General" (2007)

On June 3rd, the Iowa Federation held an annual award dinner in the performance hall of Emerald Queen Entertainment City in Tacoma, and awarded the honorary title of "Iowa Federation" to two people who have made outstanding contributions to the Iowa community, including Chinese Chen Shouren.

Vice Governor Owen and his wife Linda, Consul General Peng Keyu, Tong Defa and Consul General of the Consulate General of China in San Francisco, and representatives of overseas Chinese leaders such as Lei Guangyun, Lei Guangying, Fang and Liang attended the awards dinner that night. Consul General Peng Keyu's current visit to China is the 40th visit to China during his term of office, breaking all previous records. Owen spoke highly of Chen Shouren's contribution to the Iowa community and the promotion of exchanges and interactions between Iowa and China.

Chen Shouren, who manages ship recycling, moved to the United States for many years. While his career was successful, he also did not forget to promote the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Iowa and China. The Iowa Federation is a non-profit organization registered in Iowa. It not only commemorates, commends and supports active veterans and prisoners, but also unites people from all walks of life in Iowa to work hard for the development of Iowa. Iowa General Association was founded in1970s, with a history of 37 years. Only after being nominated by the community, reviewed by the Association Committee, and jointly appointed by the governor, deputy governor and secretary of state, can they be qualified to become "General Iowa". Chen Shouren is the second Chinese-American to win this honor after a senior overseas Chinese led the Lei Guang Olympic Games.

The American top hat of "General Iowa" seems to be tailor-made for the Chinese elite who have made political contributions to us in the Washington State community.
