Introduction to Zhou
Contemporary linguist Zhou. Pen names Zhou, Xu, Yin, etc. Born in Lingxian County, Hunan Province,191311month. I finished junior high school and senior high school in Changsha, Shanghai and Nanjing. 1935 entered the Chinese Department of Peking University, and 1939 graduated from Kunming Southwest United University. After graduation, I worked as a teacher in Ren Zhongxue, Yunnan, and later returned to the Chinese Department in The National SouthWest Associated University as a teaching assistant. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, he worked in Peking University Chinese Department and College of Literature. After liberation, the Institute of Linguistics of China Academy of Sciences was established in June 1950, and was transferred from Peking University to work there. He used to be the executive editor of China Chinese magazine and the editor of Modern Chinese Dictionary. He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, director of the Modern Chinese Language Research Office, director of the Chinese Language Society, director of the China Exegetics Research Association, and vice president of the Beijing Language Society. Zhou studied traditional linguistics and modern linguistics from Luo Changzeng, Wei and Wang Li. In particular, Luo Changpei inspired him the most, and then worked under Luo Changpei for a long time.
