China Artists Association (referred to as China Artists Association for short, led by the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee) is a people's organization composed of artists of all ethnic groups in China, one of the founders of China People's Political Consultative Conference, and a group member of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. China Artists Association is located in Beijing, and branches are set up in all provinces (except Taiwan Province Province), municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions, which is called China Artists Association (provincial and municipal branches). After 1990, each branch became a group member of China Artists Association, and the branches of provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were changed to artists associations named after provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. For example, Guangdong Branch of China Artists Association was changed to Guangdong Artists Association.

China Artists Association takes as its members people who have made outstanding achievements in art creation, art criticism, art history research, art education, art publishing, art design and art organization. It has gathered accomplished and influential art experts and scholars from all over the country. CMA is the only national art institution in China that integrates all kinds of arts.

China Artists Association is responsible for organizing and guiding national artists to carry out artistic creation and theoretical research, undertaking the organization, implementation, selection and award of major national art exhibitions, holding national large-scale art exhibitions and various academic exhibitions, publishing academic journals, conducting academic discussions, advocating art education, striving to do a good job in liaison, coordination and service, building a harmonious and upward home for artists, and promoting the prosperity and development of fine arts in China.

China Artists Association actively carries out extensive international art exchanges, organizes and participates in various international art exhibitions, receives artists from all over the world to visit China and organizes China artists to visit abroad, conducts various exchanges with artists from all over the world, and enhances friendship and cooperation with artists from all over the world.

The highest authority of China Artists Association is the National Congress. The congress is held every five years, and the Council is elected; The Council elects a chairman and a vice-chairman to form a presidium; The Presidium appoints the Secretary-General and the Deputy Secretary-General to handle daily affairs.

The China Artists Association, formerly known as the All-China Artists Association (hereinafter referred to as the National Artists Association), was established on1July 2, 9491in Laijin Yuxuan, Zhongshan Park, Beijing. On February 3, 2004, after the third meeting of the Sixth Bureau, 4 1 directors were added.

On July 26th, 2005, the second Council of the 6th China Artists Association was held, adding Normal University and Luo Zhongli as the vice-chairmen of China Artists Association.

Since the establishment of 1949, China Artists Association has developed a total of 10028 members.
