National Treasure of Henan Museum (1)- Lotus Crane Square Pot
This is the fourth time I have seen a national treasure bronze lotus crane square pot, three times as a real treasure and once as a sculpture.

The bronzes in China more than 4,000-2,000 years ago, that is, from Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties to Qin and Han Dynasties, have always been a symbol of a country's productivity and national strength, as well as a symbol of rights and wealth.

Lotus crane square pot is a precious cultural relic in the Western Zhou Dynasty. According to textual research, the square pot was a ritual vessel of Zheng court at that time, symbolizing Zheng's strength and Zheng's status and power.

The first two times I saw the lotus crane square pot were in the Palace Museum in Beijing. The first time was more than 30 years ago, my father took me to visit; The second time was more than ten years ago, my best friend and I each took our children.

Before I came to Henan, I didn't know that the Lotus Crane Square Pot was a pair, and I didn't know that it was excavated in xinzheng city, Henan.

When I visited Xinzheng Museum last year, I saw an imitation and enlarged lotus crane square pot sculpture as soon as I entered the museum gate. This is the third time I have seen this baby. Although it is a reproduction and enlargement of art, the shape is quite exquisite.

I thought at that time that the appearance of this sculpture here must have internal connection and logic with Xinzheng.

Sure enough, the national treasure Lotus Crane Square Pot was unearthed from Gong Zheng's tomb in Lijialou, xinzheng city.

Before Yiqing came to Zhengzhou three years ago, a family of three went to Henan Museum together in the summer vacation. At that time, the museum was under maintenance, and there was only one bronze exhibition hall for external development. Limited by the venue, the number and types of cultural relics on display and the design of the exhibition are somewhat unsatisfactory.

Later, I heard from local tourists that the maintenance project originally planned for one and a half years has been going on for almost five years.

However, at the end of 2020, Henan Museum finally appeared in people's field of vision with a very high-standard brand-new look.

Although the museum has been renovated and opened to the outside world, Yiqing has begun to come one after another, so I didn't have the opportunity to visit the museum until recently.

This is also the fourth time I have seen the national treasure lotus crane square pot.

Speaking of the Lotus Crane Square Pot, Mr. Guo Moruo once praised this national treasure as "a symbol of the spirit of the times". His evaluation of the national treasure Lotus Crane Square Pot is: "This crane has broken through the ancient HarmonyOS system, is ambitious, despises everything, tramples on tradition under its feet, and wants to fly higher and further."

Mr. Guo Moruo's words were printed on the platform on the crane tail side of the lotus crane square pot stand, a national treasure.

Lotus crane square pot is the first batch of cultural relics prohibited from leaving the country. This national treasure, which can be displayed in front of the world in a perfect posture today, has actually experienced many hardships.

After the Lotus Crane Square Pot 1923 was unearthed, he came to Wuhan for the first time after the Lugouqiao Incident in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and took refuge in Citibank vault. 1938 Before the fall of Wuhan, Lotus Crane Square Pot, together with other national treasures of Henan Province who took refuge in Wuhan, came to the mountain city of Chongqing from Wuhan and lived in the school building of Chongqing Campus of Central University at that time.

Then, in the new month of China 1949 1 1, two days before the liberation of Chongqing, Chiang Kai-shek's Kuomintang government had planned to transport all the cultural relics of Henan Museum, including the Lotus Crane Square Pot, which had taken refuge in Chongqing to the bay.

Later, due to the rapidly changing war situation, the Kuomintang fled hastily, and only a small part of the cultural relics of Henan Museum were transported to the Gulf, so we can still see one of the national treasures in the Palace Museum and Henan Museum today.
