The Historical Evolution of Jingshan School in Beijing
In the 1940s and 1950s, with the rapid development of science and technology in the world, countries set off a wave of educational reform.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, President Mao Zedong criticized the backward primary and secondary education, such as too long academic system, too many courses, too heavy burden, poor professors and taking students as the enemy in examinations.

1960 On April 10, Vice Premier Lu made a special report on "Teaching must be reformed" at the second session of the Second National People's Congress, and put forward "four appropriate" full-time primary and secondary education policies such as "shortening years, improving degrees, controlling hours and increasing labor" in order to absorb the Great Leap Forward reform.1

To this end, the central government decided to set up special schools to carry out teaching reform experiments in urban primary and secondary schools. 1in the spring of 960, He, Liu Manhua and Su Shidong were seconded to Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China by the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University. Under the personal leadership of Comrade Tong Dalin, Secretary General of the Propaganda Department of the CPC, Beijing Jingshan School was established.

After research by the Propaganda Department of the CPC and Dongcheng District, 9 1 Middle School and Donggaofang Primary School of the Propaganda Department of the CPC diagonally opposite the gate were merged to form an experimental school specializing in urban primary and secondary education reform. Because the school is adjacent to Jingshan Park in the west, it is named Jingshan School.

1978 was successively identified as the key school in Beijing and Dongcheng District.

1979 In February, Beijing Jingshan School established the first educational science laboratory for primary and secondary schools in China.

1983 National Day, Deng Xiaoping wrote an inscription for Jingshan School: "Education should face modernization, the world and the future".

In May 2007, Beijing Jingshan School, Shijingshan District Education Committee and Ocean Real Estate Company jointly established Beijing Jingshan School Ocean Branch.

On August 3rd, 2007, the opening ceremony of Beijing Jingshan School Ocean Branch was held.
