On February 201April 2 12, with the consent of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the Outline of the Construction and Development Plan for the International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone in Southern Anhui. Southern Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone has superior location conditions, excellent ecological environment, profound cultural heritage and rich tourism resources. It is a cultural tourist area with important influence and distinctive characteristics in the whole country and even in the world. The demonstration area covers 7 cities including Huangshan, Chizhou, Anqing, Xuancheng, Tongling, Maanshan and Wuhu, with a total of 47 counties (cities, districts) and a land area of 57,000 square kilometers. Among them, Huangshan, Chizhou, Anqing and Xuancheng are the core areas. In its reply, the National Development and Reform Commission pointed out that the planning and construction of an international cultural tourism demonstration zone in southern Anhui will help accelerate the transformation of economic development mode, promote the inheritance and innovation of excellent culture, consolidate the important ecological barrier in East China, build a world-class tourist destination, and provide a demonstration for the construction of beautiful China. We should take the implementation of the planning outline as an important measure to deepen the overall strategy of regional development and vigorously implement the strategy of the rise of central China, further emancipate our minds, reform and innovate, pay more attention to cultural construction and ecological protection, pay more attention to urban and rural planning and regional interaction, pay more attention to the improvement of people's livelihood and social management innovation, and strive to promote ecological integration. Culture, tourism and science and technology will promote the sustained and healthy economic and social development of the demonstration zone in southern Anhui.
