Chen Yinque (1890-196910.07) is a modern historian, classical literature researcher, linguist and academician of academia Sinica in China.

At the invitation of Tsinghua University, he was the tutor of the Institute of Chinese Studies with Wang Guowei, Liang Qichao and Zhao Yuanren. During this period, he mainly taught Buddhist scriptures translation literature, historical materials of Sui, Tang, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties and Mongolian historical materials research. After 1930, he also served as a director of Academia Sinica, a researcher at the Institute of Historical Linguistics, a director of the first group (history), the president of the Palace Museum, and a member of the Archives Editorial Committee of the Qing Dynasty. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he taught in The National SouthWest Associated University, mainly studying the history of Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties and Bai Yuan's poems. 1939, Oxford university hired him as a professor of China history. In September of the following year, he left Kunming for Hong Kong, ready to transfer to Britain.
