1, indoor winter
Don't leave hamsters outdoors in winter. It will freeze the hamster to death. Hamsters can survive the winter safely only by keeping their cages indoors against the cold.
Step 2 Supplement protein
Winter is very cold, and animals need to consume their own fat to resist the cold. And fat comes from the usual food intake. Some mice eat very little. Then feed more delicious food before the cold wave comes, and live better.
3. Replace the padding
After winter comes, you can replace mat materials such as sawdust in hamster nests with cotton specially used for hamsters, which will play a certain role in keeping out the cold and keeping warm. However, when arranging the cotton pad for hamsters, we must tear the cotton into pieces to prevent the cotton from winding around the hamster's feet and making it inconvenient for hamsters to move.
4, the heater to keep warm.
If the weather is really cold, you can put a small heater next to your hamster cage to keep warm, but be sure to stay away from hamsters. It takes too long to prevent hamsters from being scalded, and the heater consumes high power, so you need to be careful when using it.
