Film censorship is conducted by the Film Censorship Committee. The film censorship committee consists of 36 people. After each film is finished, it is up to the film review Committee to decide whether it can be staged.

The members of the Film Censorship Committee are not all SARFT officials, but come from all walks of life. For example, Zheng is a professor of the director department of Beijing Film Academy, an established film director, Zhu is the director of the Cultural Department of the Propaganda Department of the All-China Women's Federation, Professor Tsinghua University is the director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the State Administration for Religious Affairs (20 14 to 14, with a trial period of one year).
