Resume of Lieutenant General Xiao Xinhuai of the Chinese People's Liberation Army
Xiao Xinhuai, formerly known as Xiao Xianhuai, is also known as Xiao Rongxin. He participated in the 25,000-mile Long March, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, he served as the director of the training department of the fourth column in Shanxi Province, the detachment leader of the independent second detachment of the Eighth Route Army 120 Division, the chief of staff of the tenth army division of the Jinchaji Military Region, and the chief of staff of the third army division. During the War of Liberation, he successively served as Brigadier General of the Second Independent Brigade, Brigadier General of the Seventh Independent Brigade, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Sixth Column of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, and Commander of the 66th Army of the Twentieth Corps. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as commander of Chinese people's Volunteer Army and Shanxi Military Region. 1955, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general. He is a member of the Fourth and Fifth National Committees of China People's Political Consultative Conference.
