Life habits of snow leopard
1, living alone

Snow leopards usually live alone and live in pairs before and after estrus. Generally, there are fixed nests, which are located in rock caves, rock depressions, crevices or bushes under rocks, mostly on sunny slopes and often stay in the nest for several years.

2. Sheep and other plateau animals are the staple food.

Snow leopards feed on plateau animals such as rock sheep, goats and argali, and also prey on small animals such as plateau rabbits, marmots and mice, as well as birds such as snow chickens, pheasants and rainbows. They also steal livestock and poultry when food is scarce, and eat plants when food is particularly scarce. In order to hunt, snow leopards often go far away and often wander around an area along a certain route. After a full meal, they can go without eating for a week.

3, non-stop day and night

They are Nocturnal Animals. They lie down during the day and come out at night. The peak of predation and activity is at dawn and dusk every day. I seldom come out during the day, and sometimes I lie on the bare stones in the mountains to bask in the sun.

Step 4 mate

Little Snow Leopard's "marriage" is just a moment. Snow Leopard's lovely "baby" never knows who his father is and where he is now. Only a few adult snow leopards will abide by the "marriage vows" and get along with their spouses for a long time.

5. Give birth to piglets

The mating period of snow leopard is mostly from the end of winter to 1~3 months, and the female leopard is pregnant for 98~ 103 days, usually giving birth in mid-April or early June, with 3~5 cubs per fetus, mostly in the early morning. After about 18~22 months, the young leave the mother and live independently. The life span in the wild is generally 8~ 13 years, while the life span in the zoo can exceed 15 years.
