Don't look at yourself, don't be natural, don't cut yourself, don't be conceited
Excerpt from "Lao Zi's Heart-The Second Series of Xuecai Daodejing" 5

You can't see yourself, so be clear; Self-evident, so obvious; Do not cut yourself, have merit; If you are not proud of yourself, you can grow.

I can't see myself, so I understand. A saint never sticks to his own opinions and never judges the world by his own prejudices and standards, so he has real wisdom. Laozi attaches great importance to the characteristic of "being good as water" when expressing saints. He believes that saints, like water, have no shape of their own. If you pour it into any container, it will follow the container and become the shape on the other side. The wisdom of being as good as water is that there is no personal prejudice or stubborn personal opinion, so no matter what container you put it in, it can reflect the world like a flat mirror. On the contrary, if you are biased and have stubborn personal views, you must be biased.

"Three monks have no water to eat", if everyone has his own opinion, it will cause confusion in the direction, so everyone's opinion means no opinion. Similarly, if a country has countless values, it means that it has no values. Because everyone has their own values and opinions, and everyone is expressing and propagating their own values and prejudices, then society will have a situation of "being fair and reasonable, and women say that women are reasonable", and various opinions are fighting, and society will be "unclear". If a person stands tall, transcends all viewpoints, has no prejudice of his own, can see the whole world clearly, and can see all positions, angles and values clearly, he will have wisdom like a mirror, then he is "not seeing himself, so he knows."

"No" is not self-righteous. In the Patent of Shangshutang, it is said that "if the other party is guilty, one person will be given". If there are mistakes all over the world, the responsibility lies with me. In a good family, if something bad happens, everyone will say that they are wrong and will not feel that others have done something wrong. The same is true of saints. He won't think that only he is right and everyone else is wrong. Moreover, a saint always feels that everything in the world is closely related to himself, so whatever he does must conform to the right path, which will definitely bring positive influence to society, not negative influence.

This is what the story of "Zi Gong redeems people, and Luz harvests cows" tells: When Confucius was alive, there was a custom in Lu. If Lu people saw Lu people who were enslaved in foreign countries and redeemed them, Lu would compensate them and give them some rewards. Zi Gong, a student of Confucius, once redeemed a Lu native and sent him back to the motherland, but when Lu wanted to compensate and reward him, Zi Gong refused. When Confucius knew it, he said to Zigong, Zigong, it is wrong for you to do so. You must accept compensation and reward. If you refuse, no one will redeem slaves in the future. Later, another disciple of Confucius, Luz, saved a drowning man. The drowning man gave him a cow as a thank you, and Luz accepted it. After Confucius knew it, he said happily to Luz: That's it. Everyone will come to save people in the future.

In Confucius' view, social influence is higher than personal reputation. If your behavior is not beneficial to society, even if it looks noble, it is meaningless or even wrong. On the contrary, if your behavior is beneficial to society, even if it may be questioned, it is right. This is Confucius' values. Confucius believes that people's words and deeds are closely related to social atmosphere, so everything should consider the impact on society. So many times, you have to learn to accept resumes. Because this honor does not belong to you personally, but to your behavior, and the reward and recognition you get is for this behavior, not you personally. When you are rewarded for doing good deeds, others will know that it is right and very good, so many people will learn from you and do good deeds in the future. This is the thought of Confucius. It is easy for us to look at the problem from our own perspective, only consider what we want to do, and always ignore our inextricably linked with the world, but saints will not ignore this. This is why the thinking of saints is always different from that of ordinary people.

We should learn from saints and think more about the influence of our words and deeds on society. Especially those in power, their words and deeds are closely related to the social atmosphere, and their handling of things often directly affects the choice of the whole society. Therefore, we must have basic wisdom and virtue, otherwise it is easy to affect the atmosphere of the whole society because of improper handling of a certain detail. The best way is never to be self-righteous. "If you are not self-righteous, you can carry forward your own thoughts and the culture you carry." .

"If you don't cut yourself, you have merit." In ancient times, bragging was called cutting and punitive cutting. The ancients believed that boasting and being complacent was a kind of harm to themselves. Doing something, but not clinging to what you have done, is merit.

How important Sean is to Liu Bang. Many times, it was he who was "planning" and Liu Bang was able to "win every battle thousands of miles away". It can be said that without Sean, there would be no Han Dynasty. But when Liu Bang became emperor and was ready to support him, he declined politely. I didn't get any credit, and everything was your own blessing. Thank you for helping me realize my dream and let me be the emperor's teacher for a while. However, now I only like monasticism. With that, he went to the monastery. When Liu Bang became emperor, many heroes were cut down. Sean not only saved himself, but also saved his descendants. This is "no self-cutting, merit." Don't cry roast meat for credit, always be grateful, always feel that others have helped you, and don't feel that you have helped others. This is a very important moral character.

"If you are not complacent, you can grow." "Self-righteousness" means arrogance, and I feel that Laozi is the best in the world. The overlord of the State of Chu is very strong, and he can lift a tripod with a weight of 1,000 kilograms. He is always invincible in leading troops to fight. But his greatness is only a man's courage. He felt that he was right until he died, saying that God had ruined him. He is too proud and conceited. He always thought Lao Tzu was the best in the world. Such people won't last long. His demise is like this.

I always feel that I am not good enough, and I feel incompetent after joining the WTO. "Avoiding people's comfort and entering the WTO is incompetent." This sentence is so right, because it advocates never comparing with others, always feeling that others are better than yourself, always feeling that you are the most incompetent person in the world and you can't do anything, so there will be no enemies and everyone will think that you are excellent.
