BP's business in China
As one of the earliest foreign-funded enterprises to enter China, BP has been expanding its business in China since 1973 and in China for more than 30 years. For more than 30 years, BP has actively participated in China's economic construction and is one of the leading foreign enterprises in China. With the rapid development and outstanding performance of BP in China, China has always occupied an important position in BP's global market.

The development of BP in China has gone through three main stages.

In the early 1970s, we mainly engaged in chemical technology transfer and marketing.

Since 1980s, we have started the exploration and production of offshore oil and gas.

Since 1990s, our business has been growing and expanding, including aviation fuel supply, the import and sale of liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas, the retail business of gas stations, the production and sale of lubricating oil, the development and application of solar power generation devices and the establishment of chemical joint ventures.

In the past 30 years, BP has actively participated in China's economic construction. BP is a leading importer and operator of liquefied petroleum gas in China and the only foreign-funded enterprise engaged in aviation fuel business in China. In early 2003, BP cooperated with Hua Fu Group to establish a world-class PTA production base in Zhuhai. BP is also one of the largest foreign investors in China's retail gas station network, operating nearly 600 gas stations.

BP has developed from a foreign-funded enterprise operating in China to a part of China's economic development. Everything we do is to realize BP's core mission, that is, to cooperate with all parties to seek sustainable energy solutions, to provide fuel, petrochemical products and services to the society in the 2/kloc-0 century and beyond, and to improve people's quality of life.

On March 3rd, 2065438, BP signed a product sharing contract (PSC) with China Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation for shale gas exploration, development and production in Neijiang-Dazu block of Sichuan Basin. The signing of the contract was witnessed by David Dudley, CEO of BP, and Wang Yilin, Chairman of China Petroleum. This contract is the first shale gas PSC signed by BP in China, with a total area of about 1.500 square kilometers. PetroChina is the operator of this project. Yangtze River Delta
