Gu Songfen, winner of the highest national science and technology award in 2020, is the chief designer of the J-8 and J-8 Ⅱ aircraft. As the founder of China's aircraft aerodynamic design, he presided over the establishment of China's aircraft design system and devoted himself to promoting the development of China's aviation technology.

Character introduction:

Academician Gu Songfen, 9 1 year-old, witnessed the 70 years since the foundation of new China aviation industry. 1956, the first aircraft design room in new China was established in Shenyang. Gu Songfen's first challenge after taking part in the work was the aerodynamic design of China's first jet. Gu Songfen devoted himself to studying and studying foreign materials, and finally put forward the aerodynamic parameters design criteria and aerodynamic characteristics engineering calculation method of subsonic aircraft, and successfully completed the design of J-J 1 aircraft.

1 On July 26th, 958, the fighter plane1successfully made its first flight, which indicated that China's aviation industry began to change from aircraft repair and imitation to self-designed jet aircraft, and marked that China's aviation research entered a new stage.

From 65438 to 0964, China began to develop the J-8 aircraft, which is the first high-altitude high-speed fighter designed by China. As the deputy chief designer, Gu Songfen was responsible for the aerodynamic design of the J-8 aircraft, and later for the development of the J-8. He led the design department and the wind tunnel test unit to jointly tackle key problems, and pioneered the fighter jet impact test method for the first time in China.
