Member of China Calligraphers Association, member of China Couplet Association, member of Education Committee of Shandong Calligraphers Association, member of Presidium of Shandong Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of Qingdao Calligraphers Association, and now professor of Qingdao University of Technology.

Calligraphy style is unique, and they are all good, especially ICBC and cursive script. Calligraphy style is smooth, natural but not artificial, beautiful and verve, and cursive script is vigorous, healthy and elegant. His works have been exhibited in the 7th National Young and Middle-aged Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Exhibition and the 3rd National Couplet Calligraphy Exhibition, and won many national, provincial and municipal calligraphy awards. Editor-in-chief of Calligraphy Tutorial and other books, and published Liu Jian's Calligraphy Collection (Qingdao Publishing House).

Calligraphy works have been published in China Calligraphy, Calligraphy Newspaper, Calligraphy Guide and Guangming Daily for many times, and have been included in China Dictionary of Contemporary Young and Middle-aged Calligraphers (Xinhua Publishing House), China Calligraphers Classic (China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing House) and Selected Works of China Calligraphers (Henan Fine Arts Publishing House). His works are collected by international friends and cultural institutions in the United States, Japan, Australia, Sweden and Singapore.
