The aircraft carrier Carl Vinson ·CVN-70 is the third of the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in the United States.
On March 1982, the "Carl Vinson" officially entered the service and went to sea for trial. On March 1983, it arrived at the Alameda Naval Base in California. During its service, it gained many nicknames, such as Chucky Wei, robotech or Golden Eagle.
1June 19841before his first trip to the western Pacific in June 1984, Karl Vinson took part in the Pacific Rim joint military exercise (RIMPAC 84) in June 1985, and/kloc-0 continued to perform his mission in the Indian Ocean from October to April. In the same year, the F- 14/A Tomcat fighter on Karl Vinson also participated in the filming of Top Gun.
Top Gun was filmed as a propaganda film for conscription, so the film crew received great assistance from the US military. The U.S navy provided VF- 1 Wolf Squadron, VF-5 1 Falcon Squadron, VF-11Sunset Squadron, VF-1/. VF-2 13 active F- 14 fighter and eight active pilots from five squadrons of Black Lion Squadron participated in the filming. In addition, the A-4 attack plane and the F-5 fighter plane (MiG -28 in the film) as opponents of F- 14 come from the TOPGUN School of Milla Air Station with the same name as the film, and their pilots are the goods of the school. The aircraft carriers Raider, Enterprise and carl vinson also appeared in the film, which shows how powerful the hardware lineup of the film is.
