Shi Xiu, a native of Jiangnan (Jiankangfu, Jinling), died of his parents since childhood and was persistent all his life. When he saw the bumpy road, he went to lay down his life for each other. With my uncle selling sheep and horses abroad, my uncle died halfway, lost his capital and lived in Jizhou. Living in Jizhou and selling firewood for a living, he is good at martial arts and loves to fight against injustice. He was nicknamed "Desperate Saburo". On the streets of Jizhou, he became sworn brothers with Yang Xiong because of a strong interest. After joining Liangshan, he became the leader of the water margin army.

Sanda Zhujiazhuang, Shi Xiu deliberately let Sun Li catch, sneak into the village as an insider. Lu Junyi was trapped in Daming Mansion and his head was about to be beheaded. Shi Xiu jumped off a building and robbed the imperial court, saving Lu Junyi's life. Not knowing the way to the city, they were taken away by Liang Zhongshu and put on death row with Lu Junyi. Liangshan troops rescued Shi Xiu and Lu Junyi after attacking Daming House.
