Does anyone know why Pu Songling is called Liu Quan laity?
Hello, everyone, this is the official answer time calendar ~

17 15 Today, Pu Songling, a writer in the Qing Dynasty, passed away.

Pu Songling (1640- 17 15) was born in Pujiazhuang, hongshan town, Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. His real name is Chen Jian, and he is also known as a layman in Liu Quan. He is called Mr. Liaozhai in the world and claims to be a different charity. His masterpiece is a collection of short stories in classical Chinese called Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio.

What is the origin of his nickname "Liu Quan lay man"?

There is no exact version, but there are two stories widely circulated among the people, which can give a glimpse of some of Pu Songling's characters.

First, when he wrote Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio, "Liu Quan" was his collection base.

"Liu Quan" is one mile away from Pu Songling's residence, named after a century-old willow tree by the spring. It is located at the fork of the road, with beautiful scenery, and it is the only way for travelers to go from north to south and from east to west. Because of his poor family and poor life, he had to recruit disciples to give lectures and write books. After teaching, Pu Songling came to Liu Quan under the big willow tree, spread a mat, and invited passers-by to sit down and rest. Holding tea, he handed the tobacco pouch and asked them to tell stories from different places and write them down carefully. The traveler was moved by this enthusiastic and humble pedant, who knew everything and talked about everything.

For decades, Pu Songling kept going to Liu Quan to "collect the wind". At night, he used dim candlelight to write down what he heard during the day. After more than 20 years of hard work, Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio finally came out.

Liu Quan provided a lot of creative materials for Pu Songling, and Pu Songling had an indissoluble bond with him. In order to show goodwill, he named himself "Liu Quanju Shi".

Secondly, it is said that the reason for the figure of Liu Quanju comes from an accident.

It is said that when he took the imperial examination again, because he didn't know how to write it at the beginning, he scribbled a sentence: "From two or six families". In fact, this was the scene when he saw two willows on both sides of the spring on the road. The examiner didn't know, thinking that he was writing allusions, but he didn't know it himself, so he was given the title of "Liu Quan laity". From then on, the poop of "Liu Quan lay man" really became his name.

The above is the origin of Pu Songling's nickname "Liu Quan lay man".
