Why did Ji Bo end up buried with his son? Why not be buried with her husband?
There are many famous queens in history, except Lv Hou, Wu Zetian and Cixi, who held power and even became emperors themselves. There are also many queens who are not necessarily famous in history, but are famous for their "virtuous" reputation or other good reputations, such as Wendi's mother, Empress Dowager. Ji Bo was just a humble concubine to Liu Bang, but no one expected that she eventually became the winner of life. But after Ji Bo died, he was buried with his son. We know that couples were usually buried together in ancient times, but why didn't Ji Bo choose to be buried with her husband Liu Bang? Let's have a look.

1. Where is Ji Bo buried? Ji Bo was not buried with his son Wendi, but chose to be buried in Nanling, not far from the Baling of Wendi, belonging to different tombs in the same place. "Historical Records Volume Forty-nine Concubine Family Nineteen" records: "Two years after Empress Bo, Wendi collapsed two years ago and was buried in Nanling. Lv Hou will be buried in Changling, so he will start from the mausoleum and be close to the Baling of Emperor Xiaowen. "

According to the above historical data, let's sort out the burial order of these key figures first. Liu Bang was buried in Changling after his death. Changling was a large mausoleum built in the second year of Liu Bang's accession to the throne, with the best scale and structure at that time. After Lv Hou's death, he and Liu Bang were buried in Changling, but they were buried in different graves, with Gaozu Mausoleum in the west and Lv Hou in the east. At the same time, these heroes and some nobles who followed Liu Bang's expedition to the north were also buried in this Changling.

Liu Heng, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, died young at the age of 47 and was buried in Baling. The tomb of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty is not as burglarproof as the above-ground tomb. After Liu Qi, the son of Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty, ascended the throne, Ji Bo was honored as the Empress Dowager. It can be said that since Liu Heng acceded to the throne, Ji Bo's status has been very high. After his grandson Liu Qi acceded to the throne, Ji Bo's status is still very high. Two years after Jingdi ascended the throne, Ji Bo died. Although Wendi was a famous dutiful son, he couldn't decide where Ji Bo was buried, because he died earlier than Ji Bo.

Lv Hou and Emperor Gaozu are the same generation, and Liu Bang's Changling has been buried with Lv Hou, so Ji Bo's status is very noble. Where is the right place to bury it? Ji Bo, the testamentary edict left by Empress Bo before her death, was to be buried on the White Deer Plain between Changling and Baling, in an attempt to see Liu Bang's Changling from the left and his son Liu Heng's Baling from the right.

Bo Xilai's mausoleum is also called Nanling, because it is located in the south of Baling in Liu Heng. Ji Bo never competed for fame and fortune in his life, and his birth status was ignored, and he was not made difficult by Lv Hou. He took his son Liu Heng to Daiguo and became the queen mother of Daiguo. After Lv Hou's death, ministers attached great importance to the background of these princes' biological mothers when discussing the re-election of the emperor, in case of a second Lv Hou. An important reason for choosing to be the heir to the throne is "Bo's benevolence". It can be said that Ji Bo's kindness won her and her son the most precious opportunity. Because Ji Bo did not have Lv Hou's scheming, ambition and ambition to seize power, Ji Bo failed to enter Changling. Of course, it is also because Ji Bo is not an official residence and cannot be buried with Liu Bang.

Bo Xilai had a very deep relationship with China Emperor Liu Heng. In "Twenty-four Filial Pieties", there is a story about China Emperor Liu Heng tasting soup. During the three years when Empress Dowager Cixi was ill in bed, Liu Heng was often out of people's sight and didn't wear clothes. Liu Heng had to personally taste the potion taken by Queen Mother Bo before taking it.

When we look at Ji Bo's position in his later years, it is entirely up to us to decide where he is buried. It is precisely because of Bo Xilai's kind personality and her affection for China Emperor Liu Heng that Bo Xilai decided to be buried alone in Nanling before his death. Nanling is small, with a length and width of 100 meters, far less than Changling, which has more than 50,000 supernatural accounts.

2. Why wasn't Ji Bo buried with Liu Bang?

Simply put, it is because Ji Bo can't be buried with Liu Bang.

Ji Bo is the concubine of Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang and the biological mother of Liu Heng. She is not noble and has not been favored by Liu Bang, so she can only be lucky once. After she left her son, it was difficult to see Liu Bang again. It is precisely because Ji Bo is unpopular and low-key, so after Liu Bang's death, Gilbert and her son escaped the liquidation of Lv Hou. How can you not be happy to see Liu Bang's favorite concubine, Mrs. Qi, being made an adult?

Under the influence of Ji Bo, Liu Heng also kept a low profile. Even though he is not favored, he is one of Liu Bang's eight sons, and he may become the target for Lv Hou to remove obstacles for his son.

In fact, five of Liu Bang's eight sons were directly or indirectly related to Empress Lu. Liu Fei, the eldest son, recognized his sister as his mother before he survived, and finally died of depression. The second son, Liu Ying, is Lv Hou's parent-child. It is said that he was frightened by the tragic death of Mrs. Qi. The third son, Liu Ruyi, was directly poisoned; Five sons Liu Hui and six sons Liu You all died because of Lv Hou; Seven sons Liu Jian died in an accident, and the only son was killed by Lv Hou.

Only Hou's adopted son and he are safe and sound, and his fief is the worst of the brothers. It is close to the border, so it is necessary to resist the invasion of foreign enemies and the threat of North Korea. This is a fief for exercising ability. After Lv Hou's death, Zhou Bo and others killed Zhu Lu and made Liu Heng emperor. This was for the emperor of China.

As a foreign king, Liu Heng had no foundation in Beijing, but with his own wrist, he quickly let his cronies brought from China master many powers of the central government, and easily relieved the powers of the heroes such as Zhou Bo, and then began his great cause of governing the literary scene.

Liu Heng is a monarch and a dutiful son. After he proclaimed himself emperor, Ji Bo was renamed the Empress Dowager. When the Empress Dowager was ill, Liu Heng went to visit her mother every day. Ji Bo drank the potion, and he had to taste it before feeding it to her. This is a taste-friendly potion.

Ji Bo believed in Taoism and kept a low profile all his life. Generally speaking, people with this personality live longer, and so does Ji Bo. He lived until the reign of his grandson Han Jing. That is to say, Liu Heng died before her, so it can be said that white-haired people send black-haired people.

Han Jing's grandmother is the Empress Dowager. Two years after he ascended the throne, Ji Bo died and was buried in Nanling.

Nanling is neither Liu Bangling nor Liu Hengling, that is to say, Ji Bo was neither buried with her husband nor with her son. The reason is simple, because of the etiquette.

The ritual system in the early Han dynasty was somewhat different from that in the later period. Later, because of the existence of the queen who was chased, an emperor could be buried with many queens. But in the early Han Dynasty, the emperor only buried one queen, and concubines and concubines could not be buried with the emperor. Liu Bang has a queen, and that is Lv Hou. Her position is unshakable and she was buried in Changling with Liu Bang.

Ji Bo was only Liu Bang's concubine, and the ritual system in the early Han Dynasty did not allow her to be named the queen, so she had to be called Emperor Wendi, and a mausoleum was set up separately, namely Nanling. Considering the deep affection between mother and son, Nanling is close to Baling, Liu Heng, but it is not buried with mother and son, which is even more impolite.

After the establishment of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, regarded Empress Bo as the high queen, but Liu Bang was recognized as Lv Hou by scholars, and Empress Bo was still called Ji Bo in Hanshu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, not the high queen.

3. How did Ji Bo die? In the seventh year after Emperor Wendi ascended the throne (BC 157), Emperor Wendi died, and Liu Qi, the son of Emperor Wendi and grandson of Ji Bo, ascended the throne, honoring Ji Bo as the Empress Dowager. Two years later, two years before Emperor Han Jing (BC 155), Ji Bo died and was buried in Nanling. According to the etiquette of the Han dynasty, as a concubine, she can't be regarded as a queen, so she is called Empress Wendi, and the history books call her Empress or Bo. Because both Lv Hou and Emperor Gaozu were buried in Changling, Gilbert specially built a mausoleum alone, near the Baling of Wendi.

In the first year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D. 56), Liu Xiuzun, Guangwu Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, became the high queen. However, in Hanshu, Empress Dowager Bo is still called Gao, not Gao, because Empress Dowager Bo is a concubine, a wife, and a squire couple, so we can't change her original position and respect her because future generations depose her.
