Dao Ji (1 148— 1209), also known as Jigong and Jidian, was originally named Li Xinyuan, a native of Shibitou, north of Tiantai County. 18 years old, went to Lin 'an (now Hangzhou), the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, and became a monk in Lingyin Temple, far away from the Blind Monk Hall.
