The 2009 Tianjin Chess Championship closed yesterday in the press conference hall of Tianjin Olympic Sports Center. After four days and seven rounds of fierce fighting, Chen Meng, the final player, was in a better state and entered the final of the adult group with a record of five wins.

This competition is sponsored by Tianjin Sports Bureau and assisted by Tianjin Chess Association. Chess lovers in Tianjin are divided into adult group and juvenile group. After fierce competition from August 15 to 20, the top three players in the adult group 16 and the top three players in the junior group were finally decided. Then these players play against the Tianjin adult champion chess player who directly advanced to the final to see if they win or lose.
