Singing, dancing and even speaking fluent Mandarin, Shirley Temple plays a lost child in this exciting musical adventure movie. When Qing Qing (Lan Xiu)' s missionary guard was killed by a gang in China, she had to protect herself on the streets of Shanghai. One day, she took shelter from the rain in the trunk of a car and woke up to find herself on a ship bound for America. The owner gradually fell in love with this lovely lost child, and suggested that in order to give her a warm home, she should temporarily marry another passenger and form a family of three. But when they had a quarrel and wanted a divorce, Qingqing made them realize that they really loved each other.
