Born in Shanghai on May 20th, 1928, ancestral home in Huangyan, Zhejiang. 195 1 graduated from the chemistry department of Tongji university. 195 1- 1956 worked in Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as an intern researcher and assistant researcher.
