Gao Junbao is the work of Gao Junbao and Zhao Kuangyin's nephew Gao Qiong. Gao Qiong and Liu Jinding are husband and wife, and they do exist in history. Their buried tomb is in Mengcheng, Anhui. There are many stories about them among the people, and literary works such as drama and storytelling have been derived.

Liu Jinding's conscription, four wars, three tours to the Southern Tang Dynasty, etc. , are folklore, not credible. Many of them are wrong and absurd. For example, Gao Qiong fought in a small place called Nantang, which is not the same concept as Lee's Nantang in history, not to mention Liu Jinding's three trips to Nantang. Another example is the so-called four-door war (also called four-door chop) and Yu Hong's struggle, which is even more absurd.
