The First Aviation Academy of the Air Force is located in Xinyang City, Henan Province, which is known as the "Pearl of South Henan". With convenient transportation and pleasant scenery, it is adjacent to Nanhu, a national scenic spot, and Jigongshan Scenic Spot, one of the three summer resorts in China. The college covers an area of more than 800 mu, with "flowers in spring, shade in summer, fruit in autumn and green in winter", which is an advanced greening unit of the whole army. College is a military college that trains aviation engineering and technical personnel. Mainly responsible for the training of all kinds of ground technical officers and foreign students in the air force aviation unit. 1951may was established in Shenyang, Liaoning province, and 1970 moved to Xinyang, Henan province.
Since its establishment 47 years ago, the college has adhered to the road of combining teaching, scientific research and production, and teaching and scientific research go hand in hand. Established a talent training mode combining technology, command and management, and formed a school spirit of "unity, enterprising, rigorous and realistic".
The College has undertaken the task of training aviation engineering and technical personnel of 24 aircraft types and 40 aircraft types, and trained tens of thousands of technical personnel for our air force and foreign troops. Graduates have held various positions, from various divisions of aviation maintenance to military air force and air force engineering minister. This college is a military academy that undertook foreign training tasks earlier. It has received 35 military delegations from 24 countries, and more than 65.438 million teachers have given lectures in 5 countries.
At present, the college has 7 departments, including aviation mechanical engineering, aviation repair and helicopter mechanical engineering, aviation ordnance engineering, aviation special equipment and avionics engineering, with a total of 39 majors. Among them, there are 7 undergraduate majors. Representative majors: aviation repair engineering, helicopter repair engineering, aircraft surface repair engineering, etc. It is unique among all military professional and technical colleges. The National Professional Committee for the Use and Maintenance of Helicopters is located in the College; There are also a number of advanced teaching and research bases such as the Air Force Equipment Technology Simulation Software Research Center, the Air Force Academy Computer Software Development Center, and the Air Force Aviation Equipment Maintenance Surface Engineering Technology Extension Station. Become an ideal place to train aviation engineering and technical cadres. The college has complete internship and experimental facilities. There are 97 comprehensive and general laboratories meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Education, which can carry out experiments and practice of 86 1 discipline. There are teaching management center, scientific research center, audio-visual education center, aircraft integrated automation simulation center, aircraft integrated practice field, aircraft test field, and dozens of various teaching practice aircraft. There are sports training bases such as standard sports ground, swimming pool and light weapons shooting range covering an area of 3 1.237 square meters, and a multi-functional cultural activity center with investment of several million yuan. The library has more than 400,000 books.
The college has a team of teachers with high academic level, rich teaching experience, strong scientific research and experimental ability and reasonable age structure. There are 80 senior titles. More than 40 advanced figures at all levels of the state, army and air force emerged. 16 teachers were rated as excellent teachers in the whole army and 2 teachers were rated as excellent teachers in the whole country. At present, 50% teachers can teach directly in English, and 76% teachers have scientific research achievements at or above the corps level.
Actively carry out scientific research and academic activities. Since 1978, the college has published more than 3,600 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals, completed 285 scientific research and technological innovation projects, and won 164 achievement awards. Among them, it won 4 national invention awards, 9 first and second prizes for military scientific and technological progress, and 2 national patents/kloc-0, making it the first unit of the Air Force to win the national invention award. There are 6 outstanding teaching achievements at the military level, among which the aircraft ground noise reduction device represented the country in the "Brazil '92 International Expo"; As one of the important scientific and technological achievements of the 35th anniversary of the founding of New China, the gyro laser dynamic balancing instrument has long been included in the Museum of Chinese Revolutionary History.
