Are Guilin West Street and Yangshuo West Street the same place?
Guilin West Street and Yangshuo West Street are the same place. Yangshuo West Street, also called Guilin West Street, is a pedestrian street in Yangshuo County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Located in the center of Yangshuo ancient town, it is about 8 meters wide and nearly 800 meters long, slightly east-west, with binjiang road in the east, Taopan Road in the west and Xianqian Street and Chengzhong Road in the middle. West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo County with a history of 1400 years. When Yangshuo County was established in 590 (the tenth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty), there was already a street about 200 meters long and 5 meters wide in the county. At that time, there were only a few shops dealing in daily necessities on the street, and most of the residents were farmers. Yangshuo West Street is also known as Foreigner Street. Yangshuo West Street, which is less than 1 km, is made of slate and has a curved S-shape. The streets are filled with all kinds of tourist souvenirs. West Street is the most densely populated street for foreigners in China. The number of foreigners who come here for life and leisure travel every year is equivalent to three times of the permanent population here.
