biography
Yan Hui (523-490 BC) was born in Shandong (now Qufu) at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. Yan Yuan and Confucius' favorite son Yuan insisted on virtue. Also known as Yan Yuan, later generations are also called "Yan Shu" and "Yan Sheng". He is poor and eager to learn, and he is determined to live. Although he was drunk as a fiddler, he didn't change his interest. He died at the age of 32, and later people called him "re-sanctification".
Among Confucius' disciples, Yan Hui is famous for his outstanding moral cultivation. As for the Confucian philosophy of "the highest is the highest", he inherited the regret of the teacher who was not ashamed to ask questions, and devoted his life to "strengthening research" and "stopping at it", which won the appreciation of Confucius. Since the Han Dynasty, Yan Hui has been ranked as the first of 72 sages, and sometimes only Yan Hui enjoys it when offering sacrifices to Confucius. Since then, posthumous title has been added to the rulers of all dynasties: Emperor Taizong honored him as a "master", Emperor Xuanzong honored him as "Duke Yan", Song Zhenzong as "Duke Yan" and Yuan Wenzong as "Duke Yan Fu". In the ninth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, it was renamed "Restoration of Saints". There is also a "Fuxing Temple" in Qufu, Shandong.
Min ziqian
(536- 487 B.C.), a famous and modest man, was a patriot in the Spring and Autumn Period (now a native of Damincheng, Qucun Township, Puyang County), a disciple of Confucius, and one of the 24 dutiful sons. He was called Yan Yuan with virtue.
According to the records of historians. In the Biography of Zhong Ni's Disciples, when his son was young, he was abused by his stepmother. In winter, the stepmother was spoiled by reeds and gave birth to two sons with cotton wool. My son is cold, but my father doesn't know. He denounced this as laziness. Seeing reeds flying out of his clothes, his stepmother's sons were rough and angry. He wanted to be a stepmother. Zi Qian knelt down and begged, "Mom is cold in the first child, so she will go to the third child." Father thought it was right, so he stopped doing it. The stepmother realized this and deeply regretted what she had done in the past, treating all the scholars equally. Confucius praised Zi Qian's behavior and said, "Filial piety, Min Ziqian! People are not between parents and Kun Di. " According to this historical story, later generations adapted a play called Whip Reed Flower, and all the viewers burst into tears.
Lanboniu
[Ran Boniu] (date of birth and death unknown) surnamed Ran, named Geng. The word "Niu" is from Lu, who was born in the late Spring and Autumn Period. Born into a bitch family. A disciple of Confucius is famous for his virtue. Confucius was killed halfway when he was commander-in-chief of the state of Lu. When Confucius summed up the students' specialties, he was listed as a person with excellent moral character. Mencius listed Confucius as the first virtue when commenting on his younger brother, which shows that he has made outstanding achievements in benevolence and virtue cultivation. On weekdays, I pay attention to the etiquette of treating people and being praised. It is recorded on the dead body that Confucius often asked him to serve and help him treat people. He is dignified and decent, and Mencius thinks that his behavior is generally similar to that of Confucius; Wang Chong thinks that his moral integrity has reached the level of sanctification. Ban Gu and Wang Chong think that he is a typical example of doing good and accumulating virtue and suffering from evil diseases, which shows that his virtue has a far-reaching influence on future generations. Officials of past dynasties respected him very much. In the 15th year of the Eastern Han Dynasty (72), Emperor Yongping traveled eastward and chose Confucius as his companion when he worshipped him. In the eighth year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (720), he was listed as one of the "Ten Philosophers" and deserved Confucius. Twenty-seven years (739), given □ Hou.
