Liu Yu 1949 was born in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province in July. He has been engaged in clinical practice and scientific research of cardiovascular surgery for a long time, and has a solid theoretical foundation and rich clinical experience. 1984 went to Prince Charles Hospital in Australia to specialize in cardiac surgery. After the expiration of his studies, in order to relieve the suffering of his compatriots, he declined the kindness of his tutor and returned to work. In order to relieve the sufferings of the elders in his hometown, 1987, he took the initiative to move his family from Beijing to Mudanjiang, a northeastern border city with backward economy and culture. Under extremely difficult conditions, he opened the second cardiovascular hospital in China-Mudanjiang Cardiovascular Hospital, and served as the dean. During his seven years working in Mudanjiang, he trained a large number of outstanding cardiovascular professionals and performed heart surgery on more than 3,000 patients from 23 provinces, with a survival rate of 98.6%. From June 65438 to July 0992, two patients with end-stage heart disease underwent heart transplantation within six days. In the same year, in June+February, 5438, the first heart-lung transplant operation in China was completed. From 65438 to 0994, Liu was transferred back to Beijing, and successively held leadership positions such as China Academy of Medical Sciences, Vice President of Peking Union Medical College and Party Secretary.
