1927 was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province on May 28th.

1944- 1948 studied in the chemistry department of jiaotong university and got a bachelor's degree.

1948- 1949 Assistant, Institute of Chemistry, Shanghai Chinese Academy of Sciences. 1949- 1952 assistant and assistant researcher, institute of physical chemistry, China academy of sciences (195 1 year to date).

1952- 1955 Assistant Research Fellow, Institute of Physical Chemistry and Institute of Applied Chemistry, China Academy of Sciences, Changchun.

1955- 1975 assistant researcher, institute of chemistry, Chinese academy of sciences, Beijing (since 1966).

1975- 1986 assistant researcher, associate researcher (from 1978), researcher (from 1982), director of research office (to 1984).

1980- 1982 visiting scholar at the university of California, Berkeley.

1986 so far, researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Center for Ecological Environment Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

1995 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences.
