When he was studying in the Department of Business Administration of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he was already quite interested in politics. He used to be the vice chairman of the Chinese University of Hong Kong 1986 Student Union and the president of the student union 1987, and actively took courses in the Department of Politics and Administration.
After completing my bachelor's degree, I majored in political science in the graduate school of CUHK and began to pay attention to the electoral system. After completing his master's degree, he taught at the University of Macau and the City University of Hong Kong. In 2004, he served as a senior tutor in the Department of Politics and Administration of Chinese University.
In addition to writing academic works, he also actively commented on newspapers, radio and television, and served as the host of radio and political programs for many times. From May to August, 2004, he served as the temporary host of "Tea Cup in the Storm" of Hong Kong Commercial Radio, so he was involved in the "famous mouth sealing incident" that caused quite a shock at that time. After serving as the vice chairman of the board of directors of Shangtai, Cai, the former president of operations, was fired, he no longer hosted the program "Tea Cup in the Storm" for Shangtai. Recently, together with Huang Nianxin, he hosted the reading program Reading Decoding of Radio Television Hong Kong, which was broadcast from April to June 2008.
To this day, he still actively participates in the Hong Kong democracy movement, and is a member of the organization for promoting universal suffrage and the democratic development network together with young scholars such as Chen Jianmin, Ma Yue and Li Yongyi.
Choy Chi-keung Ivan is deeply loved by students of China University and is called "Professor Egg Head". Its name comes from his appearance, which is very similar to the angular Dokuta Egguman in Sonic Mouse.
