Sun, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, was a modern industrialist and social activist in China. He was born in 1893. He studied in Zhejiang Provincial College in his early years and then went to Japan to study. He devoted his life to the industrial and economic development of China, and was one of the founders and pioneers of modern energy industry in China.

Sun has made outstanding achievements in industry. He used to be the general manager and chairman of China Petroleum Company, and presided over the coal mining and power generation in North China. He has done a lot of pioneering work in the field of energy industry and made outstanding contributions to the development of energy industry in China.

Sun's Early Experience

1909 was admitted to shanhui teachers college and volunteered to teach for one year after graduation. 19 13 entered Fudan university in Shanghai, 19 16 entered the department of mining and metallurgy of Tianjin Beiyang university (now Tianjin university) after graduation. Since his youth, he has devoted himself to the patriotic and democratic movement against imperialism and feudalism. With the help of Cai Yuanpei, he transferred to the Department of Mining and Metallurgy in Peking University and graduated in ten years.

1924 applied for the establishment of the north manchurian muling coal mine. 1929- 1933, studied at Stanford University and Columbia University Graduate School successively, and inspected oil mines and coal mines in Britain, France, Germany and the Soviet Union. After returning to China, he served as a member of the National Defense Design Committee and director of the mine room.
