The date of the construction of the Wild Goose Pagoda in Huozhou is unknown. It is said that there is a Wild Goose Pagoda Temple next to it, which is impossible to verify. It's just that the ancient pagoda we see today was rebuilt during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, which was advocated by Li Chun, a well-known man. This was 450 years ago.
Today's Huozhou Big Wild Goose Pagoda still retains its appearance when it was built in the Ming Dynasty, but it was repaired in later dynasties. The tower is a five-story octagonal pavilion, about 16 meters high. The tower is built on a mountain platform, and the bottom of the tower is paved with bluestone. The tower body is made of bricks, and each floor is carved with bricks to imitate the rafters of wood structure. There are coupon doors on the first floor and stone carvings on the other four sides. There is the word "Wenfeng" on the main entrance. From the second floor to the fourth floor, niche doors or shallow niches are set in different directions, and stone carvings are also embedded. On both sides of the fifth floor, eight diagrams are carved with bricks, which further shows that this is the tower of Wenfeng Feng Shui. The top eight ridges are capped and the pagoda has been damaged. Only the remains of the treasure are left, and several vase-shaped pagodas are randomly inserted on the top of the tower. The tower is empty, so you can enter the tower room through the ticket gate on the first floor. Now the door is always locked and no longer open to the public.
