1992 was sent to Japan by the school to study for one year, and cooperated with Japanese experts to study the impact of forest system on water sources. In 2000, he was sent by China Academy of Engineering and Beijing Forestry University to the Forestry College of Sweden Agricultural University to do research on soil erosion and forest hydrology.

After graduating from university, I have been engaged in teaching and scientific research in soil and water conservation, shelter forest construction and environmental ecology. The courses taught to undergraduates mainly include principles of soil and water conservation and land use planning, principles of soil and water conservation, principles of soil erosion, introduction to soil and water conservation, investigation and evaluation of soil erosion, geomorphology, landslide and debris flow prevention, hydrology and water resources, etc. I have compiled and participated in the compilation of the trial textbooks "Soil and Water Conservation" and "Principles of Soil and Water Conservation" for national forestry colleges. Editor-in-chief of "2 1 century course textbook" and "soil erosion principle in colleges and universities" The main monographs include preferential flow movement and its simulation in granite area of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, soil loss characteristics and system dynamics simulation on granite slope of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, hydrological and ecological benefits of mountain shelterbelts and information system of soil and water conservation, etc. Teacher Hong Jiang's works and conscientious teaching are deeply loved by students.
