Zhai Zhigang, male, was born in June 1966, from Longjiang, Heilongjiang Province. 1998 1 officially became the first batch of astronauts in China, and was selected into the first batch of manned space astronauts echelon in 2003. Now he is a special astronaut of China People's Liberation Army Astronaut Brigade.

On September 27th, 2008, from 16: 00 to 17: 00, Zhai Zhigang successfully completed China's first spacesuit. Became the first China man to leave the cabin.

On June 7th, 2008, the State Council Central Military Commission and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China awarded Zhai Zhigang "Space Hero", and General Secretary Hu Jintao personally awarded Zhai Zhigang "Space Meritorious Medal" and certificate.

Zhai Zhigang took a historic step for China people to explore space with his own small step-China has since become the third country in the world to independently master the technology of extravehicular activity.
