Meng Qingyun is a famous military composer in 1990s, a national first-class composer, a creator of the Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Air Force, a civilian general, an expert member of the Art Steering Committee of the whole army, a director of the China Musicians Association, a standing director of music copyright society of china and a director of the China Light Music Association.
A large number of his works reflect the life of the army and praise the feelings of the soldiers, such as The Great Wall, Nothing to Say, What Do You Do as a Soldier When You Feel Homesick, Song of Soldiers, I am the Sky, etc.
