Why is Xindu also called Xiangcheng?
The name of Xiangcheng comes from 1989. Wan Li, then chairman of the Standing Committee, wrote the inscription "Xiangcheng Treasure Land" (also known as "Xiangcheng") after inspecting Xindu.

Xindu District is located at the north gate of Chengdu, at the core of the most dynamic Chengdu Plain Economic Zone in western China, and is a new central city in northern Chengdu. It covers an area of 496 square kilometers, governs 13 towns (streets) and 255 villages (communities), with a registered population of 7710.5 million and a permanent population of more than 900,000 at the end of the year.

Xindu was founded in the late Spring and Autumn Period and is one of the "three capitals of ancient Shu", with a history of nearly 2,800 years. It is a provincial historical and cultural city.
