Extended data
Before and after liberation, the cadres of the People's Liberation Army, like the party and government cadres all over the country, implemented the supply system for a long time without wages. In areas where the economic situation has slightly improved, a small amount of allowances will be paid according to their positions to supplement their pocket expenses.
It was not until the early 1950s that local and military cadres in China were graded according to the comprehensive factors such as the number of years each person participated in revolutionary work, historical contribution and the position he held, and cadres enjoyed salary allowance and other material treatment according to their grades.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the People's Liberation Army of China implemented the rank system of 1955 for the first time, and 55 generals were awarded the rank of general, who made outstanding contributions to the Red Army, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation.
1956 and 1958, two more senior generals were awarded the rank of general. These 57 generals made great contributions to the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), so they were called "Founding Generals".
1956 awarded the rank of general Wang Jianan.
1958 awarded the rank of general Li Jukui.
