Moyuan was built in the Republic of China. 1932, Chairman Gu of Jiangsu Provincial Government entrusted Suzhou Qiusongji Construction Factory to build a house garden for his concubine, and the garden site was selected in the southeast of Meicun Bridge. Part of the garden was designed and built by Zhu Shunji Architecture Factory, including a pine pavilion, a lotus pavilion, a lake pavilion and an octagonal piano room. The lotus pond is surrounded by lakes and rocks, and there is a zigzag bridge in the pool. There are rockeries piled up with lakes and stones in the park, with scattered peaks and famous trees and flowers, such as pine and cypress, lotus and magnolia. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Gu's subordinate, She Zhongliang, set up his own farm in Moyuan and built western-style houses, cowsheds and other buildings in the south of the garden. At the beginning of liberation, the self-run farm was changed into a state-owned Suzhou local farm, which was later used by Suzhou Valve Factory. Now it is a controlled and protected building in Suzhou.
The ink garden, which is open to the public free of charge, will be opened by appointment.
Opening hours: 9: 30am-65438+6: 30pm on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. Visitors to each garden are limited to 50 people in the morning and 50 people in the afternoon. Visitors need to book online in advance.
