Master Yin Guang was stationed in Wuxi Su Xichang, founded Honghua Society, printed and presented Buddhist books. He sent them from far away, but paid the postage. Li Bingnan asked for it. A few years later, I met a layman who was a disciple of Master Yin Guang. Li Bingnan explained his wish, and the layman agreed to become a letter. For this reason, the communication is switched to the print master. Three years later, Li Bingnan went to Suzhou Guobao Temple to meet the Indian master and met him in Guanzhong, which gave him great encouragement.
1934, Juxian county rebuilt the county annals, and the general editor was Zhuang Taishi Xinru, and the editors and forecasters were all scholars in the city. Li Bingnan was transferred from prison administration to fascicles, including historical sites, military affairs, judicature and epigraphy, all of which were compiled by Li Bingnan. At the end of three years, due to the recommendation of Zhuang Taishi, Li Bingnan was hired as the secretary of Dacheng Zhisheng, and Jin Xuan was appointed as the chief secretary.
1937, the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the Sino-Japanese War broke out, North China fell one after another, the National Government moved to Chongqing, and Li Bingnan entered Sichuan with the official Kong Decheng. When I was in Chongqing, I passed by Chang'an Temple one day. I heard that in the Zhuoxi Temple of Master Taixu, Li Bingnan had read Tide Sound magazine in his early years, and he had long yearned for the master's virtue. Now it is fate that he asks to see an audience. See mei Xie Yun also lying there. Chang'an Temple set up a Buddhist society, and Master Taixu selected people to go to prison to preach the law. Mei Xie Yun recommended, and was appointed as the ninth division and Shu monk. He went to Chongqing and nearby county prisons to give lectures, which was quite effective. Master Taixu once wrote an inscription to comfort him.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Li Bingnan returned to Beijing with Kong Feng and lived in Nanjing for three years. I went back to Qufu with Kong Feng for four passes and three times, and only went back to Jinan to visit relatives because of the road obstruction. During my stay in Beijing, I took Zhao Pu Temple and Yin Zhenglian Society as Dojo, giving lectures and spreading the Dharma. 1949, Li Bingnan was sixty years old and came to Taiwan Province alone with Kong Fengsi. 19 12, Lv Xue, 23, organized a "general education meeting" with the academic circles in Jinan as the president. 19 16, renamed as "Research Association for Universal Education", held lectures in Ximenyue Cave, sometimes marched to various market towns to give lectures, and compiled pop songs to improve customs, which was praised by provincial authorities.
1920, he became the director of Juxian prison, witnessed the passing of prison cells, sympathized with prisoners and made efforts to improve them. Five years later, he had to rebuild his well-equipped and spacious cell. At the same time, morality is more important than punishment, and prison education should be strengthened to let prisoners know what is bad.
At that time, Xiao Lianmei of Nanchang chose Yunnan Guangxi as the president of Shandong Provincial Procuratorate. Xie Yun, a disciple of an old Buddhist in Yang Renshan, lives in an elegant house and specializes in knowing only the Dharma. He has set up a Buddhist lecture hall in Daming Lake, Jinan, and teaches only the Dharma. Lv Xue always talks to me, which is highly appreciated.
1927 During the Northern Expedition, the enemy arrived in Cheng Ju, the county magistrate abandoned the city, and the order in the city was chaotic. Xue Lu led the police to maintain order and stabilize people's hearts. 1928, the gangster Liu Guitang invaded Cheng Ju, and the county magistrate went north. The joint organs of Xue Lu and the gentry in the city organized a temporary county government committee to help the victims and sincerely waited for reinforcements. 1930, Yan Feng fought Chiang Kai-shek in the Central Plains, Cheng Ju was besieged and shelled every day, and the people did not have enough to eat and their lives were not guaranteed. Xue Lu was in town, and I came across a book written by Feng Zikai, a nursing student. I deeply feel that the soldiers are trying to stop killing and protect students, so I swear to my whole life: I will never die, and I will decide to be a vegetarian for life! A few days later, saving Cheng Ju was a practical promise. Since then, it has stopped eating meat.
At that time, the engraving master was stationed in Suzhou, Wuxi, and founded Honghua Society, where Buddhist books were printed and sent over a long distance, but the postage had to be paid. Lv Xue sent a letter asking for it, and presented pamphlets such as Introduction to Buddhism and Introduction to Buddhism. He was very happy to read it and liked Master Yin Guang, but Lu Yao had no reason to change. Over the years, I met a layman who was a disciple of Master Yin Guang. Lv Xue explained his long-cherished wish, and the layman agreed to write a letter. For this reason, the communication is switched to the print master. Three years later, I made a special trip to Suzhou Guobao Temple to pay my respects to Master Yinguang. My teacher met him in Guanzhong and encouraged him. The teacher met Koujian in Guanzhong for ten minutes, but Xue Lu was open all day.
1934, Juxian county rebuilt the county annals, and the overall compilation was Zhuang Taishi Xinru, and the compilers were all local scholars. Xue Lu was transferred from prison administration to branch library compilation, and Xue Lu was responsible for the compilation of historical sites, military affairs, justice and epigraphy. At the end of three years, due to the recommendation of Zhuang Taishi, he was hired as the secretary of Dacheng Zhisheng Jingguan yamen, and Jin Xuan was the chief secretary. 1On July 7, 937, the Lugouqiao Incident broke out in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and North China fell one after another. When the National Government moved to Chongqing, Xue Lu also went to Sichuan with the official Kong Decheng. When I was in Chongqing, I passed by Chang'an Temple one day. It is said that Xue Lu read Tide Sound magazine in Zhuoxi Temple, the master of Taixu in his early years, and he yearned for the virtue of the master for a long time. Now it is fate that he asks to see an audience. Since I entered the room, I'm glad to see May Xie Yun, a layman, present. At that time, a Buddhist society was established in Chang'an Temple, and Master Taixu chose people to go to prison to preach the Dharma.
During the wartime in Chongqing, Japanese planes bombed continuously, and Xue Lu moved to Geleshan in the western suburbs of Chongqing with Kong Fengsi. There were several bungalows in the forest, named "Yilan Mountain Villa". There is Ding Xue Temple on the top of Gele Mountain, and there is no abbot, so it is a Catholic family. The temple is marked with "Buddhist lectures", which was written by Master Taixu. I didn't know it was ordered by the master until I asked. Xue Lu is good at being quiet, and he goes to the Buddha to recite the scriptures every morning. I haven't seen a lecture for a long time, only to know that my forehead is hung for the protection of laws and rights. So I invited Master Taixu to give a lecture, and the master agreed. After a few years, the audience grew more and more, and finally the temple was rebuilt.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he returned to Beijing with Confucius and lived in Nanjing for three years. 1949, Xue Lu was 60 years old and came to Taiwan Province alone with Kong Fengsi. After arriving in Taiwan, Li Bingnan paid a visit to the government in a Japanese bungalow in an alley on Fuxing Road in Taichung City. After he settled his official duties, he found a place to preach Buddhism. When I first found Hokkeji, I talked about the Heart Sutra first, and then talked about the 42 chapters. He is a licensed Chinese medicine practitioner. He set up a Chinese medicine clinic in the temple to provide medical help to the public, and also set up a reading room to store Buddhist books widely for the audience to read. As Buddhism became more and more popular, the lecture sites were extended to Lingshan Temple, Baojue Temple, Baoshan Temple, Shenzhai Hall, Bodhi Field and Buddhist Hall.
Taichung County is famous for its inherent avenues, such as Charity Hall, Zanhua Hall and Longyi Hall, or the Luan altar of Longhua Sect. These places also invited him to give lectures. After a long time, the believers in Lu 'an altar also converted to Buddhism and practiced the Pure Land Method. In addition to giving lectures in many places, he also set up "Buddhist Q&A" columns in many magazines, which are widely circulated, such as Juequn, Juesheng, Bodhi Tree, Ciguang, Minglun and other Buddhist publications, all of which have Buddhist Q&A columns for the elderly in Li Bingnan.
Ever since Lushan Mountain, a master of Hui Yuan, became attached to Buddhism, Pure Land Sect has been widely spread in Middle China. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, there was a fashion that "every family is Guanyin Bodhisattva and every family is Amitabha". In view of this, Li Bingnan initiated the great desire to establish a lotus society. 1950, together with Dong, Xu Zaosheng, Zhu Yanhuang, Zhang, etc., the Buddhist Lotus Society was established in Taichung. The venue was located in the faculty, and Xie Ru was elected as the first president. The following year, Xu Kesui and Zhu Yanhuang donated money to buy a residential building as the social site, which was expanded repeatedly and became a magnificent pure land Dojo in central Taiwan Province Province.
195 1 year1October, Lotus Society established two publicity groups for men and women. Men go to Taichung Prison to preach the Dharma, and women go to lotus friends' homes everywhere to preach the Dharma. 1952 1 month, the Lotus Club Hall was completed, and the old monk Professor Zheng Lian was invited to convert to the Five Commandments. 1June, 955, after the Dharma meeting, monks Binzong, Qian Yun and Jingnian were invited to teach the precepts of Bodhisattva, and hundreds of people were taught before and after. He also gave lectures on Buddhism and Chinese cram schools in the Lotus Society. Li Bingnan personally taught Buddhism, and professors such as Liu Ruhao, Zhou Bangdao and Xu taught The Analects of Confucius and Chinese, which became a trend in the future. 1June, 960, the Lotus Society celebrated its founding anniversary 10, and invited the old monk Zhenglian to start building the ring field. /kloc-More than 0/000 people converted to the Lord of the Rings, which is called the Thousand People's Ring Society.
Due to the establishment of the Lotus Society in Taichung, there is a great atmosphere of chanting Buddhism in various places. 1955, he gave lectures in Taoyuan County, northern Taiwan Province Province, and helped the lotus friends there to set up the Taoyuan Buddhist Lotus Society. 1956 In May, he went to Pingtung to give lectures, and also set up a Buddhist chanting group. Later, in Wufeng, Fengyuan, Yuanlin, Dongshi, Hou Li, Lu Kang, Zuolan and other places in central Taiwan Province, cloth education institutes or Buddhist chanting societies were established.
1956, the lecture hall of taichung lotus society could not accommodate a large audience. Old people in Li Bingnan and disciples of Lotus Society proposed to build a Buddhist library and lecture hall. The female disciple of the Lotus Society first launched a charity sale of various sewing supplies, and Master Zhang Jia also named them. The old man in Li Bingnan wrote an appeal. Finally, in 1957, they bought land in Qianping, Liuchuan West Road, Taichung City, and built the first Buddhist library in Taiwan Province Province-the private Ciguang Library. 1958, officially opened to the outside world. There are six Tripitaka Scriptures, two general catalogues of magic weapons, one complete collection of Master Taixu, seven Buddhist dictionaries, more than 10,000 other Buddhist books, twenty-five histories, Zi Zhi Tong Jian, Thirteen Classics and other general academic books. There is a lecture hall, which can accommodate thousands of people. Following the establishment of Ciguang Nursery Home, Bodhi Hospital, the first modern Buddhist hospital in Taiwan Province, was established in Li Bingnan on 1963. First of all, Dr. Yu Lingbo, a disciple of the elderly in Li Bingnan, conceived that a Buddhist should set up a hospital to serve four vegetarian families, solve the vegetarian problem of hospitalized family members, and help those who cultivate the Pure Land to spend their twilight years peacefully. This is a merit of Buddhism. After going down the mountain, I discussed this idea with Zhu Fei, a Buddhist, and stated to Bing Nan, an old Li Man, that he had won their support. After more than a year's brewing, under the leadership of Lao Bingnan, Huang, a member of the Buddhist Lotus Society, provided a downtown shop for free and medical equipment in Ling Bo. The outpatient department of Buddhist hospital was opened first, and then the construction of regular hospital was planned. This clinic opened on the Buddha's Birthday in 1963, and was named Buddhist Bodhi Hospital, with Dr. Ling Bo as the dean. Yu Lingbo wrote "The Present Situation and Future Ideal of Buddhist Bodhi Hospital" in the monthly magazine Bodhi Tree. Later, Zhou Xuande also wrote an article calling for the establishment of Buddhist Bodhi Hospital and proposed the method of donating a ward.
Due to Li Bingnan's moral heart, under the propaganda of the Moon Bodhi Tree, he won the support and response of Buddhist circles at home and abroad, and donated money to build wards. Canadian Jushi Zhan even donated a West Saint Lotus Room. Master Fa Liang and Master Fa Ming living in the United States, monk Shouye in Vietnam, elder Jin Sheng in Malaysia, Wu Lichunhua and Li Chuanxin in Hawaii all donated a lot of money. Under such extraordinary circumstances, the elderly in Li Bingnan hired local celebrities to organize the preparatory committee, bought more than one hectare of land in the suburbs of Taichung, and built a modern hospital with 100 beds. The hospital was officially opened on1July 9, 966, and was presided over by Minister of the Interior Xu, with unprecedented pomp. In the society of Taiwan Province Province, Bodhi Hospital is a first-class new hospital. After that, nursing homes and medical clinics were built on the vacant land of the hospital, and they were reorganized into Bodhi Relief Hospital, becoming one of the famous relief organizations in society.
With the establishment of Bodhi Hospital and Bodhi Relief Hospital, social welfare initiated by the elderly in Li Bingnan reached its peak. He founded the "inner temple class" to train talents to carry forward Buddhism; Established the monthly magazine Minglun, Qinglian Publishing House, the printing agency entrusted by Taichung Lotus Society, and the translation agency of Taichung Buddhist Scriptures.
