As early as the Han Dynasty more than two thousand years ago, there was a mountain peak in the northwest of Putian-Wangjiang Mountain. Around the peak, hundreds of thousands of acres of virgin forests stretch, ravines are criss-crossing, mountains are high and forests are dense, apes and birds play and crow, and tigers and wolves haunt; Villagers around Wangjiang are often killed by tigers. During the Han Dynasty, Xinghua Bay belonged to Hangzhou and Quanzhou thousands of miles away. The villagers are worried about tigers, and there is no way to complain. At that time, Yushan, the king of Dongyue, rebelled against the imperial court and became king on his own. Zhu Maichen, the governor of Hangzhou, was ordered to pursue with troops. Yushan Department fled to the mountainous area of Putian, and set up a platform in the ancient courtyard at the junction of Baisha and Zhuangbian to govern Xinghua Bay (Xinghua Plain was still submerged in Wang Yang at that time, and Xinghua Bay was a mountainous area). A general in Yushan heard that tigers hurt people, so he led his troops into Wangjiang Mountain to encircle and encircle them. A tiger was killed by an arrow, and the jade tiger was driven into other mountains. Since then, the villagers have lived and worked in peace and contentment, carefree.
Maybe the villagers are grateful to the general. For thousands of years, there has been a mysterious and ancient legend that the general killed the tiger. Later, Zhu Han Maichen continued to send troops to pursue him. Yushan was defeated in Xinghua Bay, and the general threw himself into the river. There is also a "general pool" in Hirono. The name of this place was recorded in Xinghua County Records in the Ming Dynasty). After the death of the general, he turned a small basin in the west of Wangjiang Mountain (now Shangyuan Village) into a boulder more than 200 meters high, and turned the tiger into a stone, tamely squatting beside the general. However, this tiger stone was injured by an arrow, and there is still blood. Nowadays, the boulder "General Beats Tiger" has become a natural attraction in Wangjiang Mountain Scenic Area, but strangely, it exists on rocks.
This ancient legend has been passed down to this day, adding a scenic spot and mysterious cultural color to Wangjiangshan virgin forest. ? (Qiu Jinmei, Fan Jinwei)
