Pastor Liu Yang graduated from Northeast Theological Seminary and began to serve in Daqing Christian Church in 2005. In 2007, he became the director of Daqing Christian Church. Pastor Liu Yang played an important role in the construction of Locke Cathedral.

Pastor Liu Yang once shared the construction process of the Rock Cathedral and presided over the opening ceremony. Pastor Liu Yang also gave a series of sermons within the church. Pastor Liu Yang's work and contribution made the Rock Cathedral an important religious place.
