Liu Amin is known as "one of the most influential art critics in China" because his research fields include art, culture and aesthetics, and he is especially good at the research and evaluation of ancient China paintings and calligraphy. He used to be a researcher at the Palace Museum, director of the Cultural Industry Department of the Ministry of Culture, and now he is a professor at the School of Culture and Media of Beijing Normal University.
