Chen Gexin, Chen Gang's father, was originally named Chen Changshou. Born in Nanhui, Jiangsu (now Pudong, Shanghai), he is a famous composer, known as "Song Xian". His grandfather is Indian and his grandmother is from Hangzhou. Chen Gexin graduated from Gezhi Middle School, and briefly studied basic theories such as music, vocal music, piano, composition and conducting with German klezmer frankl. Later, he taught music and wrote songs in some middle schools in Shanghai. Representative works include Rose, Rose, I Love You, Feng Huang Yu Fei, Congratulations, Shanghai Beach and so on.
