Drepung monastery is one of the six temples of the Yellow Sect. Its original name is the auspicious and eternal Ten-Party Zun Sheng Zhou, which means "Duimis" or "Jimisi" in Tibetan, and its full name is "Lucky Ten-Party Zun Sheng Zhou" in Tibetan. It is located in the depression on the south slope of Bacon Jian Zihao Mountain, about 10 km west of Lhasa. It was founded in A.D. 14 16 by Zhaxi Bandan, a disciple of Zong Kaba, the founder of the Yellow Sect. Before liberation, there were more than 10,000 monks in this temple, which was the largest in Tibetan Buddhism. With 14 1 manor and more than 540 pastures, it is the largest temple in Tibetan Buddhism.
Drepung monastery is a branch of Tibetan Buddhism in gelug sect monasteries and China. It is also known as the three major temples in Lhasa with Gandan Temple and Sera Temple. Located at the foot of Mount Gepiwuzi in the western suburbs of Lhasa. The whole temple is large-scale, with rows of white buildings all over the hillside, which looks like a lot of rice from a distance, hence the name northern Zhejiang. Zhebang, which means "gathering rice" in Tibetan, symbolizes prosperity, and its full name in Tibetan is "Jimmy with ten faces wins the continent". It is the highest-ranking temple of the Gelug Sect.
